The list of affirmations which you prepare for yourself at the start of your self-improvement program is crucially important to your chances of success. There are many factors which you will need to consider, the most important of which are the goals you set for yourself. When you set yourself an aim that you would like to attain,it is absolutely critical that this should be genuinely important to you. Affirmations cannot be thought of as a game. If you use affirmations in this way, you defeat it's purpose and work against yourself. Not only that, but you will weaken your inner mind's own belief in the efficacy of the system, and lessen your chances of success in the future.
The goals you set must be goals which are vitally important to you. They must be things that you have a burning desire for. They must be things for which you are prepared to pay the necessary price. Everything in life which is worth having has to be worked for and earned,nothing good comes easily whether you use affirmations or not. If you are having difficulty in coming up with an idea of your own, keep thinking until you have worked it out. Don't start working with affirmations until you know for sure.
When it comes to subjective goals such as having more energy and enthusiasm, being more confident or being able to handle yourself better in social situations, you will almost certainly find it far easier to set goals that are concrete and definite. In this case, work with these affirmations alone until you are sure of the measurable goals you want to achieve. If there are areas of your personality which are in need of work, these affirmations should go to the top of the list anyway. Satisfying these needs will help you meet your other targets. Remember to be patient and persevere. Don't make the mistake of giving up too easily.
All affirmations need to be created in a positive way. This means that even affirmations where you are trying to get rid of a negative condition need to be phrased from the point of view of attracting the opposite condition. If, for example, you want to overcome your shyness, you can't say exactly that in the affirmation. If you did, you would simply drawing the attention of the subconscious mind to the condition you want to be rid of. Instead, create an affirmation for the growing of confidence around people. Concentrate your focus on what you want to attract, even when you are attracting from within. remember what you create within shows on the outside.
Finally, we come to the question of what you should do if you are just totally confused and don't even know which goals to set. You can't seem to decide what you want in life. In that case, the obvious step to take is to start from where you are now, and affirm for what you need. Create affirmations for the positive states of knowing, of being sure, and always making the right choices. Work with these until you feel you are ready to move on. Then, when you have the insight that you need, you can create a new list of affirmations.
