How Healing Affirmations Can Play A Significant Role In Your Recovery
Healing affirmations can play a significant part in helping you overcome illness, but they need to be seen in context. Where medical conditions are involved, it is important to realize that affirmations are only aids to the main workings of healing, and that they are not a process in and of themselves. Any illness of the physical body which you may be subject to still needs to treated with physical treatments, whether these are conventional drugs and surgery or alternative therapies. Once you know which treatment you will be using, you can design affirmations to work in harmony with it.
There is more than one role which healing affirmations can play. As an example, a physical illness becomes worse when the body is in a state of tension or fear. This can lead to the symptoms becoming a vicious circle, with the increased pain itself creating a further condition of worry. You can easily break this vicious circle by applying affirmations to the tension part of the cycle. Attack the weakest part of the circle, and it will break completely.
We know illnesses drain and sap the morale in a way that little else can. When this happens, the use of affirmations can make a great difference. By keeping your mental energy in a more positive state, you are helping the body to cope with the illness.How this can be done is by having trusted friends or family members joining you in your affirmation journey. Adding other techniques such as visualization can increase the effects even further. If you know that you have an illness which is likely to get worse before it gets better, it will make sense for you to record some affirmations onto a portable recording device while you are still able to sound positive. At a much deeper level, you can use affirmations to program your subconscious mind to make the right choices for your overall health. This will greatly reduce your chances of succumbing to illness in the first place, especially the type of degenerative illness which occur as a result of neglect of the body over many years and stress. As with everything else in medicine, prevention is much better than cure. Even if you are not currently ill, you can still use affirmations to secure the health you already have.
Healing affirmations need to be gentle but positive. If you are reciting them yourself, the tone and intonation of your voice can be every bit as important as the words themselves. It is a good idea to record yourself and listen to how you recite the affirmations. Whether you have an “announcer's voice” or not is of no consequence, as your subconscious understands your voice better than anyone. It is the message conveyed by the voice which is important. Being relaxed, with rythmic breathing, helps augment the efficiency of healing affirmations.
